My Mom & I have little in common but what we do share, we really do! We both have a deep (bordering excessive) love & protective nature towards animals. We also love to worship. I remember one time we were shopping in a little boutique and at the exact same moment, we began dancing that goofy dance (you know the one)! It only lasted a few seconds but we looked at each other and laughed. I am a Hebrew worshiper from the House of David and the Spirit of JOY is always knocking on my door but sometimes, opening that door feels futile (incapable of producing any useful result). In those times, I either press in where JOY awaits or I let the moment pass me by.
“Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4:11
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” Psalm 43:5
In these chaotic times, we must labor (make great effort) to enter into a place of rest (peaceful knowing). There is such a glorious release when we can surrender all of our concerns over to the LORD. I am programmed from birth to be a survivalist and if my grandfather taught me one thing, it was to never rely on anyone for anything. Throughout my life, this mindset has placed a tremendous burden upon my shoulders. Praise GOD for a loving and patient mate who survived my, “I’ll do it myself” motto! As you can guess, such a resolve isolates those who truly want to help you; and none want to help you as much as the CREATOR OF LIFE. Your loving FATHER stands ready to rescue you, to guide you, and to lead you to your destiny in safety and peace but you have to call out with your whole being. I remember one time I was praying about a thing and the LORD told me just that, to give by prayer and thanksgiving, ALL that I am, and THEN, I would see HIS salvation in my situation.
“Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah” Psalm 62:8
Our LORD GOD has many names and HIS NAME is whatever you need it to be at the time you need it. HE is the EVER PRESENT HELP in times of trouble so don’t be afraid to call out to HIM. There’s no pit too deep, and no sin too great that will ever keep YOUR LORD from hearing you.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
