KEEPING IT REAL AND REAL SMALL
I really don’t have time for casual anything’s; friendship or otherwise and therefore my intimate circle is very, very, small. So what really bothers me is when I take the time to mentor someone & they realize how difficult it is to walk their own walk of faith, they get offended and allow jealousy to sever the tie that bound a good thing. The concept of jealousy is very hard for me to understand because I’m so grateful for my life and what GOD allows and apportions to me that I don’t have time to ‘peek over anyone else’s fence!’
I wrote a song several years ago which we’ve always considered our calling card titled, “COMPARED TO WHO.” The song was written for the religious mindset; the one that’s so busy wanting what everyone else has, they fail to see what GOD has for them.
Speaking from a ministerial perspective, what the LORD has called CYU to is by no means conventional so I understand the skepticism, but pathmakers are not conventional: CYU is called to lead a new way. The point is, no one has the right to tell anyone else how to paint their palette of life. I say this because though I’m walking exactly as I am led, I cannot count the times I’ve been told, “You can’t do it that way!” I’ve heard this sentiment of arrogance so much that I finally realized the best and only reply (should I deem one necessary), is, “Compared to who?”
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
God created each one of us unique with unique gifts that cannot be duplicated, nor are they in need of explanation. Each gift has a path of tests, trials, and tribulations that one must endure in order to be effectively established, but, at end, IS the promise fulfilled.
“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10
“3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:3-9
The church is so full of strife because they have allowed satan to dupe them into complacency while infiltrating their minds with jealousy. So many of GOD’S “elect” are sitting on their religious thrones refusing to pay the price to make nice their faith walk in order to obtain the fullness of GOD’S promises. Accordingly, they scourge anyone who dares to press in!
As was, as is beloved, “RELIGION KILLS!” ™
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” Matthew 23:13-15
I hope you never waste a single moment comparing your life to anyone else’s. There is only ONE YOU and you are perfectly endowed to master your destiny. And to those pressing in; if you are on the receiving end of judgement and criticism, celebrate, you’re walking your faith walk perfectly!
March on bold warrior!!
