7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Psalm 95:7
So often people ask Rev & I how we are able to have peace in such a troubling time. If you knew our life, you would be surprised to know that many times the Lord will call us to a particular region without any explanation. And there are many times and moments that we get tired and lonely for those whom we love, but, as workers of the Lord, we have learned that while it is ok to question, it is not ok to doubt. Yes, beloved, there is a difference.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6
Many of you are struggling with the peace that comes from knowing that the Lord goes before you to make the way safe, and that He stands beside you as you walk through the hills and valleys. Beloved, peace is available for you this day and every day IF you receive it. If your heart knows your God, then you are well able to abide in peace.
Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Daniel 11:32
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17
Decisions that Rev & I make have no shades of grey and neither should yours. If you allow your heart to be led by the Spirit, then you will choose right. Do not make decisions that are not within your souls to believe in. Choose wisely ALL things that are really worthy to be a part of. Some things are good and worthy to hold on to, and some are to let go. Make your choice and then be at peace.
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
A WISE STEWARD
35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Luke 12:35-40
Your days and time are important and should be used wisely. TRUST in the decisions that you make. You know by the Spirit what is good and what is bad: Choose, and be at peace with your decision. For if you ask and it is given to you, then cease from seeking, lest you allow stress to overpower the peace that was. Jesus left His peace for you when He ascended on high, and you make the choice to dwell in it or not.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Beloved, do not anguish (lament, suffer, or distress) over unanswered requests, for you are not the giver of these and in due time, you will know whether yes is yes, or no is no. BUT whatever it is, it is!
HERE’S THE NUGGET: A child does not receive every sweet confection it desires, nor will you. But what you will receive, give it thanksgiving, and the well of joy will not go dry for you and yours.
