CYU’s 2009 EASTER Epistle

eastertrumpetEaster: A Time of Celebration or Conviction?

14 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:14-19)

Easter is a time of celebration and also a time of conviction. Where are you today? Does your heart yearn for purpose? Have you become desensitized by the unrighteousness that surrounds you today? Where do you place your trust; in another just like you?

You have to realign your focus on Jesus and see that He alone is your guiding Light through the valley of shadows that you are traversing today.  Jesus came to set you free, to heal your pain, to give you strength, and to guide you Home where you will live forever in His presence.

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

We will never know how Jesus really felt about His pending Crucifixion, but we do know that He Prayed hard and long, not for Himself, but for you and for me, to accept what He did as payment for our unrighteousness.

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me” (John 17:20-21).

How we as the embodiment of His Love are so easily swayed away from The Truth to follow the foolishness and deceitfulness of the world is beyond me. Brethren, I know and I wish to impress upon you, that with God all things are possible, and without Him in your life…well all I can say is look around you and you will see that without God’s Love guiding mans direction, the world is going down the toilet.  Now let me tell you this, ‘by His Grace and Love everything will be OK to those who call Him Lord.’

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

The day of Jesus’ inquisition, the crowd of spectators and religious leaders were given a choice to either let Jesus go free or to crucify Him: Choosing that The Good Shepherd should be sacrificed for their evil,  exemplifies the way the world has become today; mans Moral Compass has gone astray.

18 And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas”— 19 who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder. 20 Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. 21 But they shouted, saying,“Crucify Him, crucify Him!”  22 Then he (Pilate) said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go” (Luke 23:18-22).

I do not convict those who were there that day for the decision they made, they could not help themselves; this act of unselfish Love and Sacrifice by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ had already been decided before the beginning of time.
There is a glorious day forthcoming when time and prophesy will unite and Jesus will come with a Mighty Shout, and all hell and its workers will be no more. Until that Glorious Day, unite yourself with Christ Jesus Lord of Lords and King of Kings and separate yourself from the foolishness of this world…before it is too late.

Happy Resurrection Day Church!
